The incredible ‘Man in the Clock,’ at Schiphol Airport in Amsterdam!
Amazing art installation at the Schiphol Airport in Amsterdam will force you into more than a double-take. This thought-provoking, beautiful installation is actually an art project shot as one long continuous take for 12 hours, then projected onto the installed structure to create a “video clock.” “Real Time,” was originally created in 2009 for Milan Design Week by Dutch designer, Maarten Baas. Baas has developed numerous variants of this project exploring different visualizations and methods for timekeeping (see below), all beautiful representations of the creative possibilities we can produce by shifting our expectations of everyday aspects of our lives. There is something extraordinary, almost hauntingly compelling about the humanistic elements of Maarten Baas’ work here.
