Nikon professionals, semi-pros and high-end hobbyists, rejoice!
Nikon today posted a teaser video officially announcing the successor to the Nikon D810: officially now, the ‘D850.’
The video is little more than a teaser, though it does mention 8K time-lapse as a new feature which will no doubt be embraced by astrophotographers and landscape photographers specializing in that niche. That should mean we finally get solid 4k video performance from Nikon and a comfortable boost in an already excellent high resolution sensor so that it can better compete with the Canon and Sony equivalents. The bits we know from the video release so far:
“The highly-anticipated Nikon D850 is coming soon.
Redefine full frame.
Experience the best of both worlds – exceptional image and video quality in the Nikon D850. Whether your interest lies in the fields of fashion, nature, sports or wedding photography and videography, this versatile, FX-format DSLR will have the best combination of superb resolution and high speed to achieve detailed and vivid images.”
We’ll post more updates and details of what’s sure to be a hotly anticipated new camera body for Nikon professionals and aspiring hobbyists in 2017. For now we’ve still got to wait-and-see.
